Research Associate - Special Education

We are seeking a Research Associate for our Washington, D.C. office who is well-versed in technical assistance methods and able to translate research findings to various practitioner and policy audiences at the state, district, and school level. This individual will support a stream of technical assistance work focused on supporting the implementation and scale-up of Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) and Response to Intervention (RTI) across content areas for students with and without disabilities.

Responsibilities

• Support a stream of technical assistance work focused on the implementation and scale-up of MTSS/RTI in reading and math for students with disabilities
• Identify and synthesize research on evidence-based practices in reading and math for students with disabilities
• Contribute to product development, training, and coaching activities related to MTSS/RTI, including training materials and implementation guides 
• Provide onsite and virtual training and technical assistance/coaching throughout the United States
• Review, analyze and synthesize information using appropriate practices and techniques
• Position will require travel

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Education, Special Education, Math/Reading Education
• At least two years of teaching experience 
• Familiarity with evidence-based intervention and assessment tools used by schools 
• Knowledge of federal and state landscape for special education policy and practice and multi-tiered systems of support
• Ability to translate research into practice for diverse audiences in both virtual and in-person settings 
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
