TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE IMcGovern Institute for Brain Research-Feng Lab, to be responsible for mouse colony management. Will manage the large transgenic mouse colonies actively used for research activities in the lab. Responsibilities will include maintaining many lines of transgenic mouse colonies, providing colony management services such as maintaining database, setting up breeding, tailing, genotyping, and weaning; providing technical assistance and nursing support in operating room; performing mouse behavioral tests and behavioral data analysis; and providing technical assistant in molecular, cellular, and biochemical analysis animal models of human brain disorders. Will also assist the lab manager with a variety of lab duties, help handle the import/export of lab animals, order animals, submit animal protocols, and communicate with MIT DCM (Division of Comparative Medicine) staff. 
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in biological science or related field; at least two years of animal research experience; strong interpersonal and organizational skills; knowledge of and experience with transgenic animals, colony management, PCR, and other molecular-based genetic assessment techniques. Job #16232
