Sr. Mechanical Engineer

 Sr. Mechanical Engineer

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  

- Mechanical design and engineering analysis (structural, thermal) of probe card components and assemblies
- Development of probe card architectures for new tester platforms
- Solid modeling of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks CAD software
- FEA analysis using both SolidWorks Simulation and ANSYS software
- Generation of fully-detailed part drawings, implementing ANSI Y14.5M GD&T standards
- Hands-on performance verification of new probe card configurations
- Generation and maintenance of the maintenance of design and solid model library
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting and resolution of mechanically-related issues in factory and at customer sites.
- Recommend and execute on mechanical-related corrective actions
- Perform NPI (New Product Introduction) tasks and assist in transfer to production
- Provide support to machining vendors and fabricators

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

- Strong quantitative, analytical, and design techniques
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and consistently deliver high quality output
- Strong problem solving skills
- Capable of producing cost-effective design solutions
- Ability to work well both independently and as part of corrective action teams
- Knowledge of DFM/DFA design principles
- Strong skill with GD&T standards
- Attention to detail and willingness to assume responsibility for designs and projects
- Good understanding of thermo-mechanical design principles
- Good knowledge of materials and material thermal properties
- Experience with precision design, tolerancing, and error budgets
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
- Proficiency with Solidworks, AutoCAD, and ANSYS
- BS in Mechanical Engineering + 3 years work experience or equivalent
- MS in Mechanical Engineering (preferred)
- Semiconductor industry experience strongly preferred
