Research Intern

Research Intern
To continue our solid growth, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated summer intern to join our Research team at the frontline of technology innovation to develop novel Simoa technologies and/or planar array technologies with ultimate sensitivity toward biomarkers. You will be working in a fast-paced environment, on multiple projects, and will be a part of a rapidly growing company on a trajectory to have a major impact in the life science research and clinical diagnostics arenas.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute ultrasensitive magnetic bead-based ligand binding assay and Planar Array based ligand binding assays for biomarker detection
  • Participate in the feasibility evaluation and development of innovative products and instruments by optimizing assay parameters and troubleshoot technical challenges 
  • Process data using statistical methods and draw scientific conclusions.
  • Update project progress in team meetings and gather feedback. 
  • Document detailed experiment process and results.
  • Routine laboratory maintenance.
Requirements
  • Majoring in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, Life Sciences, or similar
  • Prior experience with immunoassay development is preferred
  • Experience with micro pipets, multichannel pipets, repeater pipets
  • Strong technical writing and oral communication skills
  • Self-motivated with critical eye for detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
The successful candidate must be detail oriented, and have excellent organizational, record keeping and communication skills. Also, a strong work ethic to generate high quality data under tight deadlines and a collaborative and proactive attitude is a must.

This position is budgeted for undergraduate level candidates. The applicant needs to be able to commit 40 hours per week for 14 weeks. Starting date is somewhat flexible depending on the candidate's availability, but need to be in spring or summer 2021. The applicant needs to be able to commute to Billerica MA on daily basis during workdays.
