Tufts Pre-College Graphic Design Bootcamp Instructor
The School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University is seeking a Pre-College Instructor to teach our 1-week SMFA Graphic Design Bootcamp summer intensive for high schoolers. This virtual program will invite students entering grades 10-12 or class of 2021 graduates to explore the field of graphic design and learn the creative process from renowned art school faculty.
The program will take place from Sunday, August 1st to Friday, August 6th, 2021. The position will have a total compensation of $1,500. 
Instructor Job Description:
Required Qualifications
  • MFA or MGD Degree
  • Experience teaching beginner graphic design or visual communication design, some virtual or online teaching is preferred
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud softwares, teaching experience preferred
  • Availability for occasional virtual collaboration with program staff during pre-program prep phases (April-July)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Applicants should have facility working with a range of students and artistic abilities
  • Experience working with high school students

Instructor Responsibilities
Virtual Design Bootcamp Instruction
  • Design technical curriculum for 1 week program, owning the instructional sections of the program (provide a syllabus to program director by May 2021)
  • Teach daily 2.5 hour long instruction sections, presented and recorded on Zoom, and posted to canvas (additional virtual learning tools encouraged!)
  • Availability during independent student work time to answer participant questions, advise on projects
  • Collaborate with program administrators to:
  • ensure technical instruction aligns with experiential aspects of the program for a productive full-program experience
  • select artists for artist talks
  • Attend the Virtual Final Celebration event (final Friday of program – August 6)
