UI/UX Intern for a K12 EdTech Startup
We are a successful, remote EdTech start-up that provides Middle and High Schoolers a platform to improve their reading skills while learning about important issues impacting their lives.
The Juice develops new content every day that improves reading comprehension, expands vocabulary, fosters quantitative reasoning, and encourages critical thinking by incorporating standards-based assessments into the most engaging news stories of the day. Students read today’s news in 10-20 minutes, interact with informational text, practice digital media literacy skills, and answer standards-based questions. Teachers receive real-time diagnostic information about student performance data.
We are looking for industrious interns this summer to redesign performance dashboards, reporting interfaces, and product presentations. This will be a rewarding experience that includes learning how an Education Technology start-up expands into new markets and navigates the daily decision-making process.
This internship position is one of several we will provide this summer. In addition to the specific responsibilities listed below, our internship program will also include exposure to other departments within the company, weekly lunch & learns with senior executives, regular meetings with the other interns, and cross-functional training.
The ideal intern for this position will be ambitious, smart, have experience designing dashboards, and be well-versed in user interface design. Some of the projects you could work on include:
- Redesign the student-facing dashboard
- Redesign the teacher-facing dashboard
- Create a dashboard to suggest raising or lowering assigned student reading levels
- Redesign the interface teachers use to administer students in their class
- Redesign the various hierarchical administrative level interfaces
