Responsibilities: Write and edit content for two websites that provide information to people with diabetes, and loved ones who care for them. Develop editorial calendar, conduct stock photo searches to augment written content with visuals, and work with two designers to get stories published on WordPress-supported web platforms. Source contributing writers and interns to support content production and work with social media specialist to promote stories and increase audience share to attract advertisers.
Content can also include videos (company has on-site video studio, videographer and editor), memes, and reviews/commentary on other diabetes-related stories making news.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, public relations, or related field
Minimum of three years professional writing experience
Occasional travel to attend industry conferences to develop content and promote the websites
Must be in the office in Amesbury, MA on Wed. & Thurs. but can work remotely other days
No previous experience writing about diabetes is required
Ability to translate stories into Spanish helpful but not mandatory
