Investment Banking, Summer Analyst

Overview: The Investment Banking, Summer Analyst will play an important role on the firm’s advisory team, supporting an appropriately staffed team in a broad range of transactions including; mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, restructurings, royalty monetizations and capital markets transactions. Summer Analysts will provide deliverables that are relied upon by our senior bankers to help our clients and can expect to receive a high level of responsibility and deal execution experience. The Summer Analyst may also be responsible for completing special projects as assigned by the staffer and senior bankers. The Summer Analyst must enjoy working within an entrepreneurial environment that is results-driven and community oriented. The ideal individual has the ability to exercise good judgement in a variety of situations, has strong written and verbal communication, as well as the ability to balance multiple priorities. The Investment Banking Summer Analyst will have the ability to work independently but is also expected to thrive in a team environment.

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

·         Conducting company and industry research

·         Performing financial and valuation analyses

o   Financial analyses include creating detailed financial models used for valuation and other financial analysis (DCF, LBO, M&A, accretion/dilution, comparable company and transaction analysis)

·         Creating business profiles

·         Preparing industry overviews on subsectors within the healthcare industry

·         Preparing marketing documents

o   Pitch materials, confidential offering memoranda, management presentations, fairness opinions and board presentations

·         Conducting extensive financial and industry due diligence to evaluate the risk/return parameters of a transaction  

 

Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities

·         Detail-oriented

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, knowledge of corporate finance, keen attention to detail, and ability to work autonomously

·         Excellent judgement and character

·         Proven ability to multi-task and effectively prioritize

·         Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point)

·         Demonstrated leadership in academics and extracurricular activities

·         Commitment to being a team player and contributing to the MTS culture

 

Qualifications:

·         Must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university undergraduate program

·         Strong desire to work in investment banking as well as in healthcare
