Bookkeeper
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the part-time Bookkeeper will:
- Record revenue and cash receipts
- ACH deposits as received
- Monitor brokerage accounts and process and record stock gifts
- Categorize to appropriate revenue accounts
- Reconcile cash deposits
- Reconcile revenue with development department on a monthly basis
- Prepare government invoices as required
- Prepare department budgets
- Manage Accounts Payable Processing
- Prepare Accounts Payable coding and transactions, record vendor invoices and employee reimbursements as they are received, or needed; prepare weekly check runs, and communicate with vendors as necessary to resolve issues
- Request W9s from new vendors; enter appropriate information into General Ledger to support annual 1099 processing
- Credit card statements
- match credit card statements to receipts, follow up with staff if necessary
- Perform administrative tasks including maintaining file system
- Assist in gathering information for year-end audit, if time appropriate
- Maintain QuickBooks entries
- Obtain payment approvals for bills
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or five years in related field
- Non-profit accounting experience strongly preferred
- Working knowledge of Excel, QuickBooks (QB) required, QB Online preferred, and FASB guidelines
- Solid grasp of general accounting principles
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to prioritize and organize workload
- Experience working with external auditors, internal controls
- Ability to give and receive feedback as a tool for growth
- Ability to work independently
20 hours per week; preferably 4 hours, 5 days a week; $25/hour
