SIM Research Coordinator

This SIM Research Coordinator will be responsible for:
  • Providing coordination, data management and methodological support to principal investigators in the development of medical simulation-based research.
  • Developing and overseeing the implementation of best practice guidelines for conducting various research protocols.
  • Working with the Director of Academics and Research, presenting and preparing training materials as part of the Research Program’s educational efforts.
  • Collaborating with researchers, analytical support staff, and others where appropriate to ensure project completion and success.
  • Developing study-specific data management and quality assurance procedures and monitoring their implementation at site visits and/or periodic review of study data management reports.


To qualify, you must have:

  • The knowledge of theories, principles and concepts typically acquired through completion of a Master's degree in health science, public health, epidemiology or a closely related field; course work in statistical methods plus 1-3 years of experience in a public health, community health or clinical research setting is preferred. Candidates with a Bachelor’s degree, including statistical methods training, with 2-5 years of relevant work experience will also be considered.
  • Experience working on, and/or leading, research in academic medical settings is preferred.  Other comparable experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of clinical research best practices as well as human subject protections regulations.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively with one or more multidisciplinary research teams to ensure quality of research practices.
  • Experience developing, documenting and implementing data management and quality assurance best practice activities.
  • The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
