The Tufts Institute of the Environment (TIE) is an interdisciplinary, university-wide institute that initiates, facilitates, and promotes environmental education, research, and outreach toward a sustainable future.

TIE is the proud sponsor of a number of projects, programs, events, and initiatives on- and off-campus.

 

Job Summary

Provides specialized, subject matter knowledge to develop, implement, review and evaluate a university Program or Project in collaboration with Manager or Director. Participates in development of goals and strategies; creates data management and filing systems; develops, analyzes and monitors budgets, grants and contracts; and participates in development and implements marketing and advertising efforts including writing content for website and social media material. May design and represent program externally at conferences, meetings and events. Conducts research and drafts reports and results. May oversee recruitment and management of study subjects. May provide advice and counseling to students. Coordinates hiring and training of staff, students and temporary help.

Essential Functions:      

•           Develops goals and strategies for program/project in collaboration with Manager or Director

•           Implements plans and evaluates progress

•           Recommends changes as necessary        

•           Develops data management and filing systems

•           Oversees entry and maintenance of data

•           Develops data collection forms or other materials          

•           Oversees and analyzes budgets and prepares reports and projections

•           Participates in budget development      

•           Writes and designs program/project literature

•           Develops and oversees marketing and advertising

•           Writes and updates material for website and develops content for social media efforts      

•           Provides ideas and content for meetings, seminars, lectures and other special events  

•           Conducts research and drafts reports and results            

•           May support student services associated with program or project including admissions and registration processes, general advice about program requirements and options

•           Coordinates hiring and training of staff, evaluates workflow and productivity and provides input into employee performance review.

•           May supervise student or temporary employees.

Minimum Required Experience, Education, Background, And Certifications/Licenses

•           Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 3+ years of related experience OR Master’s degree and 1-2 years related experience

Additional Preferred Experience, Education, etc.

•           Master’s degree in related discipline and 3+ years of experience in related field of study
